The Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension (ANRE) Program is administered by both Cooperative Extension, University of Wisconsin-Extension and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jed Colquhoun provides leadership for the organization, content and effectiveness of extension programs related to agriculture, horticulture and natural resources. He works closely with UW-Extension and CALS leadership, county extension agents, and the more than 100 CALS faculty who hold extension appointments to ensure that the college’s extension and outreach activities are timely and integral to Wisconsin.

Dave Williams works to connect University of Wisconsin resources, knowledge, and research to the needs and issues of Wisconsin agriculture, horticulture and natural resources. He provides leadership in the delivery of ANRE programs and the hiring and professional development of ANRE faculty and staff, located in 66 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties and the UW-Madison, UW-River Falls and UW-Platteville campuses. Dave coordinates several statewide ANRE initiatives including the documentation of the value and economic impact of Wisconsin agriculture at the state and county levels, agricultural emergency preparedness and response, and evaluating Cooperative Extension’s role in working with and through agricultural service providers.

Lorre Kolb promotes awareness of UW-Extension through strategic communications and media distribution for agriculture and natural resources programs. She works with state specialists and county agents to develop materials, including news releases, for external communications. Lorre also maintains and posts content for UW-Extension ANRE social networking sites.

Julie Scharm provides administrative support for the program area and to the program director. She works for both the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at UW-Madison and the Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Area at UW-Extension. She serves as a liaison between administration, faculty and staff, state specialists, county agents, and external contacts for the program director. She works on matters related to human resources, internal communication, and overall program administration. She also serves as a peer support facilitator for Extension colleagues.
